Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP5056 Hot Swap Voltage Controllers

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP5056 Hot Swap Voltage Controllers are designed to protect circuitry on its output from transients on its input. These controllers' maximum output load is current-limited using a sense FET topology. The MP5056 voltage controllers include an IMON option that produces a voltage proportional to the current flowing through the power device. These voltage controllers protection features include current-limit protection, thermal shutdown, damaged MOSFET detection, and Under-Voltage Lockout protection (UVLO). The MP5056 controllers' total short-circuit response time is about 200ns. These controllers are available in a QFN-22 (3mm x 5mm) package. The MP5056 devices are ideal for voltage controllers and are suitable for applications such as hot swaps, home appliances, PC cards, and storage devices.
