Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated MAX5977A / MAX5977B Hot-Swap Controllers

Analog Devices MAX5977A and MAX5977B hot-swap controllers with precision current-sense output provide complete protection for systems with a 1V to 16V single-supply voltage. Analog Devices MAX5977A and MAX5977B hot-swap controllers limit the inrush current from damaging the board or shorting out the backplane during initial insertion. These Analog Devices hot-swap controllers feature a 1% accurate current-sense amplifier output. The MAX5977A provides a latched-off output, and the MAX5977B is an auto-retry output when these devices are in fault mode. They also provide two overcurrent circuit-breaker protections: a fast-trip threshold for a fast turn-off and a lower slow-trip threshold for a delayed turn-off. These devices are designed for various applications, including servers, storage systems, network switches and routers, and general hot-swap.
