Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ2241-AEC1 Synchronous Step-Down Converter

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ2241-AEC1 Synchronous Step-Down Converter has a configurable frequency (300kHz to 2.2MHz). It can achieve up to 1A of continuous output current (IOUT) with peak current control for excellent efficiency and transient response. The MPQ2241-AEC1 generates an output voltage (VOUT) as low as 0.606V and operates from a 2.7V to 6V input voltage (VIN) range. It is ideal for various applications, including automotive infotainment, clusters, telematics, and portable instruments.

The Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ2241-AEC1 integrates a 35mΩ high-side MOSFET (HS-FET) and a 25mΩ synchronous rectifier for high efficiency without an external Schottky diode. At light loads, it can be configured for forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) or advanced asynchronous modulation (AAM) mode. FCCM has a controllable frequency and a lower output ripple, while AAM mode provides high efficiency by reducing switching losses at light loads.

The MPQ2241-AEC1 offers standard features, including soft start (SS), enable (EN) control, and power good (PG) indication. In addition, the MPQ2241-AEC1 provides over-current protection (OCP) with valley current detection to avoid current runaway, short-circuit protection (SCP), reliable over-voltage protection (OVP), and auto-recovery thermal protection. With internal compensation, the MPQ2241-AEC1 requires few readily available standard external components. It is available in a QFN-9 (2mmx3mm) package and AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
